It should not be that hard to accomplish the same feat with a plain microphone input on a cellphone instead of having to depend on their tools and a PC.

I've read about people tensioning spokes by ear. But, since I'm old I can no longer trust my hearing. ;)

If there was an app for that then I'd probably purchase it...
