That's right! :D

It was a combo, roadie to fire road to roadie ride. 8-)

I based the report on the bike ridden.

That doesn't happen here. Roadies in these are unusually super social and many of them dig my combo bike conversion. That, and gravel biking is HUGE here. On fire road rides like Verdugo Mountain, the vast majority of bikes encountered are gravel bikes. Those guys are just roadies who have discovered (or rediscovered) the joy of rolling on dirt on a type of bike that they are used to riding. I saw a couple of them yesterday while I was up there and zero mountain bikes.

I don’t know that it happens anywhere. I just recall all the childish roadie hate on another site we used to frequent

I stop in once in a while just to see if I’m missing anything. Sometimes when I’m searching google it’ll return hits from there. If it’s something from 10 to 12 years ago it interests me. Not much else does. Too bad 88me isn’t there for history. I think that and the recycle bin years was peak entertainment

I've only been riding an average of once a week for the past several weeks which is BAD. The second Moderna shot made me miserable for at least 4 weeks and I'm still not feeling "normal" but I am improving. So, I did a Verdugo Mtn quickie from home this morning on the Kona. Another early start to BEAT THE HEAT. My legs felt heavy again this morning. :x

But once the suffering was over, the nice views from up there made it all worth it. :D

Yesterday would have been my dad's 108th birthday, so I endeavored to ride my street bike out to Ft. Rosecrans where he has a plaque.
A series of comedic errors ensued, which tacked on another 5 miles to a ride that would normally be 11-12 miles. I have a pair of 700c tires on that bike now, a 42c up front, and a 38c in the back. I inflate them only to 40-50 psi, which makes the ride extra comfy for me. I ended up with just under 16 miles for my first ride in almost 2 months, it feels like.
Anyways, I am resolved to ride at least 3X a week now. It felt really good.

Ray........ I feel your pain. Been way too busy and when I have time to ride, something always comes up. At least I was able to service my daughters bike.

Glad to hear it Ray!!! :D

I got out for a roadie quickie this morning before work. I stayed on pavement and zig-zagged all over Flintridge to reach the Rose Bowl where I did one lap and then stopped for a coffee on the way home. Cali opens up today. The signs requiring facial masks to enter Starbucks are gone. I wore mine anyway, for my friends who work in there but I will quickly phase out of that now.

15+ miles
1100'+ gain
