Ooh, the included software will let you overlay GPS data in the video. That's a neat feature.

Wonder if you could use the software to overlay data on video produced by other equipment. :thinking:

it looks smaller than the garmin one, but i wonder if it will add more than just gps data. the garmin will add all the data you can get from your gps (cadence, heart rate, elevation, temp, speed, location) but this one just says gps...i would have to still lean towards the garmin at this point. at least i wouldnt need 3rd party software to put the gps info on the video.

New details- sony is opening their api to allow devs to create apps to allow 3rd-party hardware control of the camera. That means you wont have to buy the wrist-mounted sony remote, but could use your wifi enabled device of choice (read: smartphone) to control it. thats pretty cool.

While its nice the one major edit of Matt hunter in Afghanistan riding looked like poo. All filming done with that cam.

i wouldnt say it entirely looks like doodoo, but its not as nice as a gopro. cool trip tho, love seeing people ride the really remote stuff.
