With the longer days, I felt not rushed to do the Cherry thang. I had a lovely time.

Nice. We're starting to dry out now. Got temps in the mid 60's, with crystal clear skies. Maybe sneak a ride in by Friday, trail work on Saturday. Rain again next week.

Yeah, I'm not feeling it yet either. This year the Mid-Atlantic has been wetter than Seattle. Our trails are going to need time to dry and lots of work. Meanwhile, your posts keep me sane.

Yep, the blizzard arrived. Sidways snow with constant 45mph winds and gusts in my area yo to 60mph. Just 15 miles up the canyon they had 75mph winds. The Denver Airport shut down as well as many other businesses. Went to work st 4:30am and it was pouring rain sideways due to the winds. By 10am it was snowing sideways. Total whiteouts. A wet slushy icy snow which is not the norm for Colorado which is known for fluffy dry snow. It’s supposed to clear out by Friday with sunny days ahead. Pretty miserable storm through. Toppled trees and flipped over semi trucks.

DJ, a news Meteorologist here said that your Colorado blizzard had the power of a Category 1 hurricane. It's moving on to the East to cause Hell in that direction next.

After work today I did a Tour de Verdugos. Up Beaudry North, across Verdugo Motorway, down Whiting Woods. All routes are trashed from the active rainy season we've had this Winter. I did locate a well hidden secret ST that I need to hike. I went down about 50 feet into it but I saw no bike tracks. Earlier in the ride, I had a bobcat cross in front of me and then I came around a corner to red-tailed hawk standing on the fire road. The bobcat scaled a 30 foot vertical hill to escape and the hawk took to wing the moment it saw me. Nice to be so close to one of those magnificent flyers.

Crazy day yesterday. Today the winds continued at half of what they were yesterday. But the temps went up into the 40’s. By the end of the day all the snow had melted except the large piles the snowplows made. Quite the difference from yesterday’s nightmare. Up into the mid 50’s in a couple of days and back to NorCo bliss.

The usual weed type wildflower bloom (like Lupines) has yet to begin but the poppies are going off big time in the OC. Entire mountain sides are orange. Here, it's golden hillsides of Mustard plants.

I hear tell that Anza Borrego is really going off this year. A veritable "super-bloom".

No sir. My immediate area is not a super, duper poppy field bloom zone.

I will be in Havasu starting this weekend. We shall see what blooms out there...

Is this not beautiful?! This is what real rain will do for a land that was largely erased by fire. :D

We get something similar here in a couple of weeks.

By mid-June that exact same scene will look dramatically different.

We are out at Lake Havasu City, AZ for spring break. Ive been riding daily but the scorpion weed is overwhelming here at this time. Im having to decontaminate my bike and riding attire after every ride and its a pain in the ass. I will post pics when I get home. The bloom is wonderful out here.

OK, I had to look up scorpion weed, as there's nothing like that here.

According to Wikipedia, our Hawg is a "sensitive individual".
