A port there is extremely difficult to keep open, due to the sand migration caused by the wind and waves.
Even with the heavy equipment they have today, that's no easy task.
Hence they figured a way to get the boats on land on the beach instead.

I had a nice ride this weekend up in the desert. I was finally able to relocate the entrance to a really fun section of trail. The climb out is brutal and you'll feel it while I'm grinding out of there. Long video, 13+ minutes. Grab some popcorn...

I had a great ride today at Bobcat Ridge. Started out at a chilly 47°, had to break out the leg warmers. It warmed up to 55° by the end of the ride. I was amazed to only see only a couple of other riders and hikers in the lower valley but none up top, I filmed but must have bumped a setting on the GoPro because it was on hyper fast. I ended up deleting the footage out of frustration.

Mini, I tried my best to find a cloud in the sky but there wasn’t one to be found. ;)

Sounds awesome Norton. You may not recognize it since it burned.

Sweet video Hawg. Riding on the moon looks rewarding.

Norton, that third pic of yours with your boys kinda reminds me of the old show, "Bonanza".

Some of the boyz drove up yesterday from out and away to join in on a few laps in Chilao. We did a big lap (10 miles) first and then a small lap (7 miles) afterward. The temps were perfect when we arrived late in the morning. The elevation there is at 6000' +/- so you never really know what to expect until you arrive. The fire road climb around the back of Mt. Hilyer was pleasant. We caught up on local happenings within our personal lives along the way. Hilyer has it's own Wall, something I doubt I will ever clean and only one of my riding buds has ever cleaned it in my presence. A few of the guys tried yesterday and one of them came close, but it didn't happen. From there we climbed a little more and then took a breather at the top before the scary fun began. Mt. Hilyer is a DH trail that weaves in and around of monzo granite boulders with some very technical features mixed in along the way. It's actually too much for me but I can clean some of it. I am happy to say that I can now confidently clean one section that has been troubling me for years. That said, there is a few more super techy sections that I doubt I will ever even attempt. It was a first trip for two of the guys, both accomplished riders and they LOVED IT. Once we got to the bottom, we junctioned onto Silver Moccasin trail, which I recently shared some footage of here. They loved that too. Back at the cars, we took a breather and then did it again. Three of us stopped for lunch once we were back down into civilization again and then we called it a day. The pic of the rider in action is one of the guys who had never been there before. 17+ miles, 2600' gain.

Hawg is one of those that seem to not care too much about such things.
Compared to his latest videos, this looks like just another day at the office.
....but yes, looks fun!

I dig the shroom pic! Is that a healthy for you type or one that will make you see pink elephants flying out of your arse before you drop dead?

Hawg, the later. That's an amanita muscaria aka fly agaric.
Deadly.

Those mushrooms are located at the "bat cave" entrance to the single track. I meant to get a pick the other day because that one was so bright and perfect.
