Is anyone out there? What happened to this place? I'm not seeing much posting like days gone by. And don't give me the excuse that you're out riding, that doesn't fly with me. There's always time in your life to get on here and share with others your passions.

Perhaps I should have posted this in the off topic forum. But to me the off topic forum and the general forum has always been one in the same.

I can't speak for the rest of us, but personally I ride in the summer, and don't tinker much.
As this forum mainly is based on DIY and tinkering, I'm on hiatus every summer.
I've got loads of stuff in the pipeline though for the winter.
This boy is going to have a hardcore trike for next season! :D

Magura :)

I am sort of like Magura. I do all my playing and tinkering in my garage that is currently 110 with zero air flow. No interest in playing out there right now.... I haven't even been commuting by bike because the sun is just too much when I would ride home (3pm).

I am also waiting for my next big project in the way of building a new commuter... I still think it will be a Surly Troll, but I have also contemplated the Ogre or just a LHT 26" to make use of my current commuter bits and pieces..... I will eventually decide and get my birthday gift. :)

I've been a busy kitty lately... Riding/running when I can. Not much to report. :)

Like most of you, the heat has been keeping me low, along with continuing complications from that TBI I received in the rear-end auto collision on 7/1.
I did manage to get up to Mt. Laguna last Sunday for a 22 mile afternoon ride, though. That was nice.

Other than that, I've been putting in some time lately in implementing a bicycle-faciliotated cardio/weight loss training program for my neighbors' dog, a slightly obese beagle/lab mix. At the beginning of our venture, he could barely do 2 miles. He's a young dog, but a very lazy, spoiled, manipulative young dog. Not with Ray, he ain't.

Below is his "Training Log" for September:

Buckley’s/Buck’s Trail Log (1)
September 2015

Date: Trail: Distance: Avg. speed Top Speed
/Time:

09/05/15 Pavement 3.15 miles 5.3 mph 10.0 mph
(home-sidewalks, alleys, etc.) /38:30

09/07/15 Morley Field 3.38 miles 4.8 mph 8.3 mph
(up top) /42:21

09/08/15 Morley Field/ * 4.04 miles 4.9 mph 8.9 mph
Florida Canyon /45:38

09/10/15 PAVEMENT 3.96 miles 5.1 mph 8.4 mph
(Home) /44:30

(1) unless otherwise noted, all training sessions in this log are on genuine dirt trails, mixtures of utility road, double-and-single track trails. All trails were legal, official, multi-use trails. When on real trails, the dog’s name is BUCK. On pavement, sand, grass, etc. he is referred to by his sissified name, Buckley.

* First timer descent of “Zig-Zag” trail, to Florida Dr. East trail, to Pershing Dr. intersect, and up the Pershing Drive Hill trail. One “incident” on this ride. An Autistic/Tourette’s kid spooked Buckley. No big deal.

"Who's there?"
"Isabelle"
"Isabelle who?"
"Isabelle on a bicycle..."

Hot as ever here, but monsoons have been fruitful this year. I believe that the lack of posting here is because most of us here only post quality stuff! Unlike some other places where the forums are just to argue or post inanities...

I dunno about orange bikes. My belief is that orange bikes attract Tarantula Hawk wasps.
They are also easier for the Marines to spot here in San Diego's back country, and in San Diego, mtb'ers are the "New Insurgents".

And I for one can vouch for the painful Tarantula Hawk Wasp sting. Rated #2 on the pain scale to humans out of all insects.

So I won't be sporting an orange bike anytime soon. ;)

I guess Hawg is lagging in the response factor. His new ride is a Trek Remedy.

Nobody knows, he disappeared off of empty beer and from here several weeks ago. No pm's answered and no response even in a thread dedicated to him. Looks like the Mooksters taking a hiatus away from the madness. ;)

I'm guessing that Mook found himself a nice local hottie, and his life is too full now trying to balance riding, work, and lovin'.

I'm sure if he has a hottie, he's doing a lot of "riding".

And it's a mountainous terrain hopefully. With a taste of single track in the valley.

Neither do I.

then again, I don't get why all you guys are still posting on EB, chum-pski still ridin' shotgun.
BTW, I found that i can once again read the forums over there, but i just can't bring myself to beg forgiveness for regaining posting privileges there.

Alls' I can say is, I hope that wherever Mook is, it's a better place.

Mook stopped posting over there at the same time.

That place has changed with each passing month. This last month without Mook has been a hard pill to swallow. You Ray as many others are missed dearly over there. I encourage any that still can to come on back. As far as Chum riding shotgun he's chilled out way more than times last. Stopping in once in awhile warning of sexual remarks basically. Other than that it's still a good time just like here, both are lacking in active members like times past. Our one big family has dwindled significantly in both locations.

Could it be Face Book perhaps?
