I got off work early today and almost duplicated yesterday’s ride. Just as I was about to load up black clouds rolled in and it started to sprinkle. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Been getting sprinkles at ride time daily. That’s why the MTBs have been chosen. Hate this time of year. Cold rain sucks

I have some good news. The State is opening up some of the Parks during the week starting on Monday. That gives me the Santa Monica Mountains to ride through during the week as an option. I assume that it includes Verdugo Mountain since it's run by State Parks. Also, the National Forest trails remain open for use and includes the San Gabes right behind me. I guess I will pull the FEX out of storage and put the roadie away for now...

Got out to ride today for the first time in about 5 months. Never got out again since the first week November.
More out riding than I expected, but didn't see any groups gathered.

Log is a side option on the easy trail from back when the trail was new 16 years ago. Nobody rides the side stuff much as they are heading for the newer flow trails.

I got out today. Climbed Mount Lukens to the towers, then dropped down the other side on Haines Canyon fire road which I took to Blue Bug ST where I proceeded to scare the heck out of myself on a loose, gravely trail that is narrow and carved in a near vertical hillside. The exposure would kill you very dead in a fall. IDK why I ride that trail other than to remind myself that I am alive?

There is a twist to this story though. With all the closures going on around here, I found out YESTERDAY that the ride I did today was open. Today, while I was on the ride, they shut it down. Now, they are going to open up some stuff out West on week days only. This is getting awfully CONFUSING!

I put the Kona away last night so that I could ride the FEX today. Some of the more awesome trails farther up into the forest remain open (for now) so at least I have some dirt to ride (for the time being)...

I got three rides in before they closed the trails. The DNR put it out on social media and the news that there was no gate fee and to use the parks for exercise. Lots of people that usually don't use the park came into the park and the town where the state park is. Locals sent complaints about too many people gathering and wanted the parks closed entirely. Obviously the folks with bikes and horses stand out, so those users had their use stopped so park staff didn't have to get close up to someone in a rescue situation. Left the gates free and hikers or groups haven't been addressed that I know about.

Should close to everyone or the problem of groups gathering will still exist.

Been too busy with getting my backlog of household chores caught up and doing more childcare for my grandkids. My club trails are open (private land), but I like staying home. Although, I'm looking at finally finishing the trails on my property. 8-)

Good to see all are busy. When I posted that question the quarantine and trail closures slipped my mind. I haven’t missed a beat with work and my trails are fortunately still open. Today we’re getting several inches of snow coming off a week of 60’s to high 70’s.
