^ bike tossed me this afternoon. That’s fight #2 for me since I got it. I was farting around on a bike path then thought maybe I’d better make sure no one was coming up behind me. When I turned to look back the seat turned with me. Splat!

I had a short one but nothing embarrassing happened so I deleted it. Icy in spots now. I did a short test and tune ride in a loop next door in patch ice conditions. That was enough for me.

I’ll put something up when it gets warmer

Looks light and fast
Really like the red walls too. Wish I could find some in a 20”

I can assure you it's not light by any standard. The suspension alone adds like a pound, a triple Shimano 105 is a boat anchor, and the Spinergys are also not the lightest, being clincher.
It's a nice everyday ride for poor roads and gravel though.
At my nearest inconvenience, it'll get tubulars and proper parts......

I have another CAAD 3 Silk road with an identical frame, a Dura Ace 25th. anniversary group set, tubular Spinergys, Schwalbe One Tubulars, now that's a different story. I'd think it's like 5 pounds lighter or so, and very close to being as fast as the Klein Gerolsteiner TT bike.
This bike is treated with the outmost care though, as most parts are about as rare as a 25 year old virgin with huge knockers.

What would you want 20" road tires for? That's a peculiar size.

I always eyed the headshok for the fatty. A smidge of cush for the big wheels was all I ever wanted.

Some of the older 20” banana bikes ran red line tires. I have a set I can use for display only at low pressure due to age cracks. It would be nice to have a modern set I could actually ride. They really look awesome with the yellow and black there

What’s the age on these roadies mr m?

This is the one that should have red line tires. 69 Biltmore (J J Newberry house brand) badged Columbia Longboy. The ones on it are original, mad age cracked and faded. If I put any kind of pressure in them the cracks get frightening with inner tube tumors even lol

For just a bit of cushioning, the Headshok is outstanding. The new gravel bikes with suspension forks are no match.
The bad news is the cost, and the cost of servicing. A Headshok is pretty much a Lefty built into the head tube.
ChinaDale have made a cross bike with a Lefty, called Slate. Not much fun and heavier than my prehistoric SilkRoads.

Depends which bike you refer to in the pic? The SilkRoads we have are from '98 to '02.
For L'Eroica races I'm on an '87 Cannondale Criterium.
Most of my bikes are Cannondales, all from when they were made in USA.

I'll bet you I've seen BMX pavement tires with red walls. I'll keep you in mind.
I envy your bike collection. I'd soooo like to try riding some of them.

Product of an empty nest and aging knees. I can’t ride full force 2 days in a row so I alternate between cruisers and MTB. Gave up the roads maybe 8 years ago. To many texters killed it for me. Sucks what happened to cdale

My oldest banana bike is a 58 Murray, newest is 2007 Bratz. I can have a basement full of them for the price of one classic car. Working on it !

I presume that you, like yours truly, ride all the bikes you have?
How about making a thread, posting pics and a it of info/background on each of the bikes in your collection?
I'd be rather curious....

I can't ride full throttle every day neither, since I became member of OFF, so it's like one or two full throttle days a week, and three to four days of moderation.
