Thanks Joe. I had a chance to ride with Optimus a while ago when I visited Phoenix, and he told me about this forum.

That 650b Endorphin will be a mighty tempting bike...

PS: I cannot get it to get embedded, I'll have to look at this issue later.

Test.... :|

Seeing how this unedited video is for you guys. Had to shorten it up to the other side of the loop. Used the 720/30. Can't watch in HD on my computer but, well, here goes nothing....

That's 8ish minutes you'll never get back... Don't mind the beginning just start it at the 05 second mark to get over me coughing, I was tired from trying this damn thing out last night at 1am and from yesterdays ride.

I need to figure out how to not have my editor program not crash because of the massive files. Or cut up the rides into short clips. I wanted to go all out and shoot the whole trail which it did but the 2.7GB file is killing my computer. At first I tried to shorten it to a 10+ minute video but that would have taken 12 hours to edit convert....suggestions? Anyway to get my computer to play HD and not lag?

Nice video. The trail looks like a lot of fun. Helmet mount?

As for the video woes --yep, you are entering the frustrating lands of how much computer do you need to process these stupid files. I use iMovie and there is an option to reduce the file size on import. I have to do that or my laptop starts to grind to a painful, overheating mess. You might to see if your editor has something similar. You might have to add an external hard drive to save the files if you want to keep raw footage.

Currently using videopad video editor professional edt. Works great but my computer needs more power. LOL. It will edit videos to any FPS/Type/size/anything it just that a file that big takes a huge amount of time to edit or edit so you can watch it in non HD. Thats before you start throwing in music and anything else. So on that note, don't espect too many videos from myself as "I aint got time fo dat" and would rather be training or resting not spending my time watching an upload bar. That's cool if you like to do that or have the power but currently my mini-laptop isn't cutting it for massive editing. In time..... I'll see what different settings look like and what I can do with videos and then finally upgrade this computer I have to something that is great for video editing.

and why do you want to know about the mount? Maybe is was a helmut mount, maybe it wasn't.

Re mount--that is why I'm curious. It didn't look like a helmet mount due to the angle. It didn't look like a bar mount because it wasn't nauseating. It could be strapped to your frame, resting on your shoulder like a parrot, I don't know.

As for my edits, I start the import and take a shower, prepare dinner, watch the grass grow and count to one million. Once the file is in, the editing takes little time due to the import resizing. The upload is relatively quick as long as it isn't 1080p.

LOL, it was a bar mount. I think part of the non nauseating thing is cause i'm smooth even though the trail may appear other wise but it's also the most robust mount I have ever seen with two rubber straps to stop vibrations/hold in place and a robust mount in which it bolts, yes, bolts with two allen bolts onto your bar or seat post if you want. It's a PITA just to get on. Also the cam has a laser which you know? but I use a spot in my house to set it before I leave so I know where it will be pointing.

I figured out a way last night to keep the video quality worth watching, FPS higher than what I recorded but at a much smaller size file and it didn't crash my computer or program because of it. It still took a good five-six hours to convert but it's better than 12+. Uploading it now.

Edit: Vimeo just F the pooch and changed it to 30FPS....

Smooth as can be on an iPhone. I'll try a computer in a bit, but I suspect there will be no issue.

Hutch, I use the free Windows Live Movie Maker 2012 on Windows 7 (desktop) and Windows 8 (laptops). I also use iMovie on my 3 Macs. I don't have to let iMovie "optimize" the video before editing, which is a time and quality-saver. Same with WLMM 2012. It will optimize the clips for editing, but not the raw footage. This preserves quality.

What are the specs of your computer? The computers I have are far from high-end, but they all edit and play HD video flawlessly. I always do a few small performance tweaks when I buy a new computer, like disabling the pretty default desktop theme. I always go with a plain jane classic desktop.

I just bought an 11.6" screen Asus Q200 netbook from Best Buy for $329, and even that edits and plays HD perfectly. You may want to consider something like that, since it isn't super-expensive.

Well, I had a great computer before the exwife basically stole it. Anyways. I have a shitty toshiba NB255. Yeah my HS calculator is better. Though Net helped me upgrade to sony vegas pro 10 along with my videopad video editor professional. Both really expensive and really good editing programs. I've triple checked and bothered the F out of Net about it and everything is fine on my computer with the editing after and before. It's once I upload it something goes wrong and it doesn't upload to HD or fail to upload. Now, my computer can't play full HD online but 99% of you can watch it so I try to optimize it to best I can so you guys/gals can watch in HD. I can watch them fine in HD prior to uploading but no HD will play online for me. So I'm at lost ends on what to do...

Intel atoms don't like HD. If you happen to have a second unused mini pci-e port in your netbook you can install a Broadcom Crystal HD card. It'll take all the load off the cpu when viewing HD, cpu will go from 80+% to 20%.

I quit using netbooks with Atom processors years ago. The one I just bought (and the Windows 7 one I bought a couple years before that) have dual-core Intel and Celeron processors, which is why they can edit HD video no problem. Of course I only record in 720p, so I haven't tried editing a 1080p clip.

I used to lurk in the dell outlet for good deals at work. They offer some scratch and dent models with full warranty. We were able to nearly steal hardware for less than any PC upgrade parts.

Tell me more. We need to upgrade the home PC and we're considering a laptop.

Start with outlet.dell.com

Follow their outlet Twitter feed for coupons
https://twitter.com/DellOutlet

Cross your fingers that you find something (inventory fluctuates wildly at times).

Pinkbike solved my problems with video quality. So that's that. I took some footage today but it's at a snail pace with the dog and there is a ton of swearing. Not the best image to portray on the webs IMO.

All this video talk made me drag my camera out today. We will see if I post my slide out.

Sounds like my normal ride. When I ride with someone the first time I tell them they may hear spontaneous outburst of profanity and I assure them it's normal for me.
