I guess it's time for a no topic thread.

Missing summer here. had minus 19C this morning, no fun at all.
The pic is from last summer, in my garden.
The tree carried so much fruit, that I had to make supports for it, in order to keep it from capsizing.

I woke up to a few centimeters of fresh snow blanketing everything, including the roads. Commute is going to be fun today. :x

I am in Greater Boston. Morning was fun indeed, I got stuck at a couple of spots - untreated roads + slippery wet snow. I am happy to report that I made it to work in one piece though.

See, I hate to tell you this, but making it to work, is not all that, making it home, now that counts for something ;)

Just coming off a cold snap for the last 5-6 days. 16F (-8 C) in the mornings, 40F (5C) in the mornings. It has NEVER BEEN THIS COLD in my 16 years living in Arizona.

Did I mention I am a weenie when it comes to cold weather?

LOL! :) Our Winter has been mostly mild so far but we are headed for a little colder streak next week when the temps are supposed to dip to low teens / around -10C. I like it when it is just below freezing as the trails are nice and firm then. Mud and slush are no bueno.

Yes, I'm a weenie.

It's hard to get used to the cold, when it's that temporary, as in your neck of the woods.

Back when I lived in Latvia, minus 15C was just another great day for riding.
Now that I've been back in Denmark for like 15 years, a ride in minus 15C is simply just not happening.
Right now it's minus 18C, and it has been too cold to ride for a few days.
Not that it matters, since I'm drowning in work, and have a bunch of bike parts I'd like to finish up as well.

Hello, fellow refugees! Magura, thank you for the suggestion to check my spam folder. Not much makes it in there these days. My confirmation email did. ;)

Yeah, I look forward to that feature as well.
I kinda need it, as taking more than one bike with me traveling, is not really an option, and the places I go, are very diverse.
That coupled with some serious seat height adjustment (electronically), plus ride height adjustable fork (also electronics), and it gets reasonably close to the target of a Swiss knife bike.

For some reason, this place is considered a security risk and spam, and to be honest, I doubt it's that wide spread that I'm here :D

Looks like I need to create a test thread and some test posts to figure out how the embedded images work. Any plans for a test forum? ;)

If not, I'll just let you know when I'm done and you can delete it?

Joining a few others for a night-ride around 8:00 tonight. The forecast low for tonight is only 50* (75* high). Unseasonably warm weather will make this the most comfortable night ride until spring. ;)

6F here now with a windchill down to -8F and these low temps are supposed to last for the rest of the week. I also happen to be quite busy at work these days so no riding or tinkering with bikes for me for a while. I managed to steal this past Sunday for a purrfect day of skiing in NH though!

I forgot they made some changes to my closest trail and I haven’t ridden it since the re-route. I joined some others on a night ride last night and was moving along at a nice pace when my helmet light went out. No problem. Kept on truckin’ with the bar light. And then I get to the new dips. I’m thinking “I don’t remember this.” Then, there’s a dip with a drop on the decline. It was too late to stop and I had no perspective on the drop because of only having the bar light (there seemed to be a lot of shadow on the other side of that drop). All I could do was pull up when I came to the edge of it and prepare for impact. It was a butt-pucker moment for sure. ;) I survived. On the third lap I finally managed some finesse on it. I've got to go back during the daylight to get a good look at it.

I feel your pain with the cold man. I went out yesterday for short ride only 6.2 or something miles. It was actually to use my bike to go get a new battery for the car. It just wasn't even fun, bundled up so much, even then the cold air in my eyes was horrible. Not to mention having a battery in a pack. Guess my sag was at 70% Anyways, it might warm up next week to the high 40's with rain. Then it's supposed to drop back down in the 20's. In short I'm sick of this cold.

Been so busy with work, literally "living" at the office now. LOL

I really gotta get out on my bike when all this rain stops.

We're right here and you can come visit any time. :D

Besides, when they overhaul that other site and things go wrong, you'll have a cozy spot to hang out just down the street. ;)

I know the feeling. Seems like I've had very little spare time at home and lots of project tasks at work. I went to spin class a few times and liked it. It just didn't become a regular thing for some reason.

Bill, I've been watching the chatter on the NE Texas Trail facebook page and really want to ride a segment sometime soon. They still don't have a backup person for me at work. As soon as my primary project is completed (30-45 days) I'm going to take some time off and go ride that trail. Fvck 'em if there's a problem at work. They've had ample notice to get someone else as a secondary and I'm not hauling a laptop out on the trails. ;)

Another long day at the shop...I really have to hire staff to run the manufacturing operation while I sleep/bike/video game/watch tv.

On a positive note, the area behind the new shop is promising - looks like prime area to practice hucking. I'll have to get pics soon, and start riding to the shop once the weather permits.

My life is currently defined by somehow frustrating work (new job with a lot of skeletons in the closet) and bad weather. Plus, CVS has decided to invade my small residential neighborhood so I am joining the forces of the locals to persuade the town board of appeals not to change existing zoning and to tell them to go elsewhere. Life has been kind of sucky in 2013 so far.
