MDO is a great spot to stop and take in the views. It's one of my favorite places to camp and ride.

How many times do I have to remind you to get a hold of me before you head down there so that I can head up to meet?! I'd be all over camping out in the evening and riding in the day!

Yes, that is the big talk in my area. I know some of the people who are responsible for this restoration project. The "Gab", as we call it, is literally in my backyard. I rode another section of it recently. Everyone is looking forward to having that section completed because it will create a huge passage from urban areas up into remote forest areas.

God Bless Robin and Mike McGuire (US Forestry). I've ridden with them and they live in my town so I see them all over the place. Everyone knows them. They are local celebrities.

God Bless Mt. Wilson Bicycling Association. They are the main contributors of maintaining the trails in the San Gabes.

Norton, that's exactly the kind of publicity we need in CA!
Great pics.

That’s some serious hard work, they deserve celebrity status. Good to hear there are people like that out there building and maintaining trails for future riders and for us to enjoy.

Those of us who are trail builders do not get enough recognition, but I think we don't do it for that reason. I just like sharing the stoke. 8-)

And those of you who volunteer their free time to do this are highly respected in my book. I’ve done some over the years but nothing on a regular basis I’m embarrassed to say. Funny part is when I was a teenager riding dirt bikes I was one of the few who built the local trails in my area. Some of which have carried forward to become mountain bike / hiker only trails. “No motorized vehicles” even though dirt bikes were what pioneered and cut their way through the countryside.

A new option going down on juicy bacon. Pardon the portrait shot but it works

CMP (check my pants) still eludes me. Don’t know why sections of this intimidate me so. I ride the pansy lines. That root has wheel scoop written all over it

That’s from Dryer Road park outside Victor NY. Easily the best riding my area has to offer. XC, dirt jump and some pretty technical trails my opinion.
If you’re looking for scenery it’ll be a big disappointment.

I’m happy to have it nearby. Even though my skills come up short on some features it is nice to have them available when you’re ready to mix it up a little.

If you find yourself in the area gimme a shout. I’ll supply the fat little man that makes you look good!

Here’s the flux fartin around the skills area. Sorry I can’t imbed on here from my Mac device

That sidewinder looks very cool

First night ride pf the season for me last night. I met a friend out at Marshall Canyon, a local favorite of that area which I had never ridden before. We got all the climbing (fire road/ST combo) done with a setting sun and when we reached the top of the hill, the sun sunk out. So we put the lights on and wild ride back down began. Since I was on unfamiliar ground, in the dark, I held back a bit but I was still going too fast because a few spots took me by surprise. Scary as hell when you are pointed downhill at speed and you have no idea what's coming up around each turn with the blindness of dark added in, LOL! Anyway, we had a blast and there wasn't any traffic to slow us down on the critical sections.

Had a cozy ride with a friend today, going pretty much from the center of Denmark to Kattegat.
Denmark is supposed to be flat like a pancake, when you ask people around the world "just like Holland".

Great shot ^.

I managed a short ride today in between rain storms. My timing was perfect with a small window of opportunity. I finished just before the second larger storm hit and managed not to get wet. The dirt was like velcro from the first small storm. The bike is parked on a launch ramp for fishing tube waders. They actually built several of these around this pond to make it easy to launch these fishing contraptions. Pretty cool actually.
