In the part of the world, that currently makes me feel like home, butt is a rather common dish.
Smoked that is.

I have been having way too much juvenile fun with that bell. The missus is tiring of it but not me :D

get this in now as I am up very early mornings to get my walks in

Just a refresher of what makes up my 53 Huffy. It came together in chunks. Chunks of cash and time. I'll just cover the main ingredients

Started as a box of parts. Guy bailed on the project after having fenders, bars and stem rechromed. I forget but it wasn't less than $100 or more than $150

66 Girls Western Flyer badged Huffy. A significant parts donor. $65 delivered. Great deal

Gold and Pearl powder coat. The gold is amazing as is the pearl. However the pearl parts will need be re-done this winter. I pulled the plug on the tin parts worried about losing them in riots and looting so the sheet metal work came up short. $180 for this trip

Seat post is quil style and took some work to get freed up. Drive time going after it, searching for small parts like the bell and reflectors. I still have plenty of small hardware needs but most of it is done. Tires, bearings, plumbing hardware to fake the truss rods etc. About another $100 and counting

But what I have is a bike you don't see every day. The $ value will never come back. It gets earned back in rides and smiles. Been riding it all week.

people like seeing it. Draws comment everywhere I ride.

.every. .single. .ride.

I'll update once the decals for the tank and guard are done. Just as stoked as DJ is with his new ride. Bike love is grand

That bike turned out really good!
It's sometimes a great deoal to find someone who gave up on a project, that is if they were not too ham fisted.
Getting all the chrome in ready to bolt on condition, was rather nice. I doubt you could have had the work done cheaper.

Congrats and enjoy!

Magura :)

BTW, that quote from Miles D. was from an NPR show interview of him that was one of best examples of a man saying, "take me for who I am, and not some stylized western academic idea,, biatch"...
I heard that and I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the week!
What a character that Miles was!
