Keeping with our winter theme

2.5 hour wander this morning. Freezing rain and sleet in the last half.

But fun....I think. :)

Mini, you’re an inspiration just for getting out in that stuff.

Good stuff MT and the Michael Jackson glitter sleeve tops it all.

I've got a bunch of riding baboons here who are bugging me to start riding with preparation for rain in the forecast on any given day so I ordered a couple pair of waterproof wool socks and a pair of waterproof wool riding gloves. The gloves do not look waterproof and they do not look bulky. "Minimalist" profile was a focus in the design of these. But I hear good things about them.

Accidental inspiration. It was just cold till I reached the furthest point from my house when the slop hit. Was about an hour or two earlier than had been forecast. Weird...

Been trying to shake a deep chill from it all day. Have not been chilled this deep since putting boat docks in in the spring at my dad’s old place on Canandaigua ten years ago.

I’m ok with cold or wet but both with an ice coating ain’t my bag. Made a memory

I'm ok with cold, but not wet. I was riding and got caught at 12,000 feet with a summer thunderstorm. Rain turned to hail and I got really cold on a 4500 foot decent. Cured me of ever riding in the rain again.

I’ve waterskied on that lake many moons ago. :)

And now back on topic:

I expect to engage in 3 threads on 3 subforums at most.
If you’ve ever quit a place of work then returned you know how it feels. Everything you thought you missed vanishes and the crap that made you quit the first time starts nagging at you.

We were blessed with a quick cover I just needed a recovery day before getting out to enjoy it.

2-3 inch crust base with 3-4 inch pow cover. Doesn’t get much better than that. Got me some

"rain ride" today. I took a chance an headed out during one of the dry spells on the radar but it got me in the end. Nice and dry for the climb to the top of Vedugo Mtn but once I reach the Motorway, light rain had begun and it picked up all the way back down the mountain. Once I was back in the residential zone, it was a steady light rain. I dint really get wet though, just mildly damp. And, it was better than sitting on my bum all day. :D

Glad you got out Hawg and Mini.

Hawg, is that a repeat photo or one just taken from the same vantage point? Looks very familiar.

It's a new image of the same place. Each time I pass by there (it's a sketchy HAB), I am surprised that it has not been repaired because it was a major utilities truck route used to access the many service towers along the range. It's rather gnarly. Id say it's at least 15" deep at the deep end with a few mega 5' roller drops at the shallower end and a gap of easily 12 feet. There is a super gnarly true DH (dual crown fork only shit) trail rolling down the mountain close by there so I am shocked that the DH'ers have built built a ramp for jumping that thing. It was created in last year's Winter season.

Nope. That's not my kind of riding. I prefer to keep my wheels close to the ground.

Me too, Hawg. Us working guys gotta take into account that a crash might cost us half a years' income. Not good.

If everyone was as "serious" as DJ, the world would be a better place. 8-)

I'd vote for him as POTUS ! 8-) :o :ugeek: 8-)

( I never realized how many smilies we have to choose from. Good thing!)
